PRIVACY NOTICE
Privacy, plainly explained.
Who we are
EarnKind is a UK website design and management service. Liam Cain, trading as EarnKind, is the data controller.
What information we use
Depending on how you interact with EarnKind, we may use business contact details; information you send in enquiries, approvals and service requests; customer billing and payment-status information; limited public information about businesses and their representatives; basic technical/security logs; and records of marketing preferences, objections and suppression.
We do not deliberately collect sensitive personal information for prospecting.
Where information comes from
We receive information directly from people who contact or become customers of EarnKind. For business prospecting we may also use limited information from public sources such as business websites, public social profiles, business directories, Companies House and review/listing services.
Why we use information
- To respond to enquiries and discuss services — legitimate interests and, where relevant, steps requested before entering a contract.
- To assess carefully targeted B2B prospects — legitimate interests in growing EarnKind through proportionate business-to-business outreach.
- To provide and support customer services — contract performance and legitimate interests.
- To invoice, reconcile payments and maintain financial records — contract performance and legal obligations.
- To protect systems and maintain records of decisions, objections and disputes — legitimate interests and legal obligations where applicable.
Direct marketing
Our default unsolicited-email prospecting pool is verified corporate subscribers such as active UK limited companies and LLPs. Sole traders and ambiguous subscriber types are not assumed to be corporate. Marketing identifies EarnKind and provides a straightforward way to object or opt out. If you object, we stop using your information for direct marketing and may retain the minimum suppression information needed to avoid accidental re-contact.
Where personal information came from a public or third-party source rather than directly from you, this notice is provided or made available within the period required by data-protection law.
Who we share information with
We use service providers needed to operate EarnKind, currently including Google Workspace for email and operational records, GitHub for source-code/delivery records, and Cloudflare for website hosting, delivery and security. A payment provider such as Stripe may be added when live payment processing is activated. We do not sell personal information.
International processing
Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where this occurs, we rely on the provider’s applicable UK data-transfer safeguards and contractual arrangements.
How long we keep information
- Rejected/uncontacted prospect personal contact data: normally deleted within 90 days once no longer needed, unless required for suppression or compliance evidence.
- Enquiries and contacted prospects: normally up to 24 months after the last meaningful interaction, unless a longer period is needed for an objection, dispute or legal reason.
- Customer contract, service, invoice and payment records: normally up to 6 years where required for legal/accounting purposes.
- Technical/security logs controlled by us: normally no longer than 90 days unless an incident requires longer retention.
- Suppression records: the minimum identifier for as long as reasonably necessary to honour an objection.
Automation
EarnKind may use automation to help prioritise or score business prospects. A score does not itself authorise contact and is not used to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal information, or object to processing. You have an absolute right to object to direct marketing. Contact [email protected]. We may need to verify identity before acting on a request.
Complaints
Please contact us first if you have a concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Cookies and similar technologies
The current EarnKind website does not use non-essential analytics, advertising pixels or similar tracking storage. If this changes, this notice and any required consent controls will be updated before those technologies are used.
Changes
We may update this notice as EarnKind’s services or suppliers change. The current version will remain available on this page with its effective date.
